I have been told by NAB that I have been successful in gaining a position at the bank. I was then informed that the next step would be a background and police check, and then a email confirmation. I have not received the email and it has been 21 days since they told me this information. I was wondering how long a background check usually takes.

Background check can vary from a week to a month depending on your history. mine took a week but a colleagues (who had previously worked at NAB) took a month.

This amount of time appears to be extreme. I would follow up as they would be very keen to be given feedback on this process
