Great work Ethics, Felt Valued,
Inhome Care Worker (Former Employee) – Cairns, QLD – 3 October 2014
I enjoyed my work at Ozcare, well organized Organization, training up to date, Clients needs based ,variety of work, cultures and clients.
Great teamwork while also working in the community unsupervised.
Salary was fair and weekend penalties applied.
A typical day at work was driving from client to client meeting the requirements of the care plan for that day, whether it was personal hygiene, meal preparation, respite, outings, medication prompts etc
I learned that everybody is different, they need to be made to feel special, that they need to be encouraged and motivated to get the best out of every day, also they like to see a smiling face.
The only time I saw my co-workers was at inservices or where there was two of us required to shower or hoist a client.I got on with all the co-workers that I encountered.
The hardest part of the job was there was never enough time to fulfill all their needs and that we had to have good time management skills.
The most enjoyable part of the day was to see a happy, smiling client whose day was made brighter by my having visited them.
