A top 10 public accounting firm uses Indeed to achieve the lowest cost per hire among its recruitment advertising sources.
Double-digit growth is not unusual for Crowe Horwath LLP, one of the top 10 largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States. What began as a trial quickly turned into a longer campaign as Crowe Horwath realized a significant increase in quality candidates. “Indeed provides a more professional-level type of candidate compared to the job boards,” Porfilio said. “The quality of the candidate pool from Indeed is more in line with our hiring needs.” According to comScore, Inc., a small percentage of job seekers using Indeed also use the three major job boards. The difference in Indeed’s audience was a significant benefit to Crowe Horwath’s campaign.
Crowe also saw value in Indeed’s appeal to younger candidates. The firm has well-defined career paths, and works to attract college interns and recent graduates. “The younger, savvier generation will go to a search engine like Indeed first,” Porfilio said. “It’s just a more logical way to find a job. They don’t want to deal with registering with several different job boards, and Indeed makes it easier to find and apply to jobs.”
Candidates using Indeed click directly to Crowe Horwath’s career Web site, where they can learn more about the company and apply for other open jobs at the firm. “Indeed’s click-through feature maximizes our investment in our site,” Porfilio said. “It provides tons of visibility for our brand that we couldn’t achieve as cost-effectively any other way.”
“Indeed was the most productive recruitment source in terms of ROI in our SEO/SEM strategy,” Porfilio said. “Our cost per hire with Indeed was just $1,135, which is even lower than our cost per hire from employee referrals.”
“Fifty percent of hires from Indeed have been of a higher professional level than from the job boards,” Porfilio added. “Indeed does what’s needed to draw a good quality source pool.”
