Working with the Asset Development Projects (ADP) team will provide you with the rare opportunity to develop significant and high profile mining expansion project expertise. You will also have the opportunity to further enhance your knowledge within a highly renowned and energetic project group, with world class expertise and technology.
To support the ADP Port Project Manager, we require a Perth based Area Manager to assist in the delivery of the Nelson Point area of our current Port Project.
With a diverse range of responsibility, the role of Area Manager plays a critical part in providing leadership within ADP and also to our EPCM and construction contractors. This involves contributing to the achievement of Cost, Schedule, Quality and Functionality KPI's and importantly supporting the creation of an Incident and Injury Free Workplace.
This role will be accountable for reviewing and approving commercial and technical deliverables required for both execution of the project and handover from ADP to operations.
In contributing to the management of the project and maintaining close relations with Site Operations personnel, the Area Manager will be required to regularly attend Port Hedland to provide input to construction management, reviews and investigations as required.
Skills and Experience
Having gained a minimum of ten years project management experience within the resource sector you will demonstrate broad knowledge and capability in the delivery of major mining industry projects, ideally Iron Ore, with major project office and site experience within an Owners Team or EPCM preferable.
Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline is essential.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating effective negotiation and liaison skills with the ability to provide leadership in areas of planning, communications and safety. This role demands a strategic thinker with sound decision making skills and a natural aptitude for problem solving.
Interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, you will demonstrate the ability to engender positive working relationships through your high level communication and management capacities, and outcome orientation.
