Position Synopsis

With on-going expansion of our mines, port and rail capacity currently under way we are now seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to join our Project Controls group to assist in the implementation of effective cost control for the Owner's Team.

Reporting to the Senior Project Controls Engineer you will be responsible for recording and analysing costs and trends, providing appropriate advice to key project personnel.

As a member of the Owner's team your key responsibilities will include:

Ensure compliance with project control procedures on Owner's Team capital commitments;

Administration of Owners Team budget, commitment and forecast;

Review and checking of payment certificates for Owner's Team costs;

Establish and maintain clear communication lines and cost management procedures relating to scope of works managed by other BHPB departments on behalf of ADP;

Coordinate Owner's Team Month-End Processes; and

Prepare Owner's Team Monthly Reports.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience a minimum of 5 years project experience with successful track record in cost control, preferably in Client focussed roles.

Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Accounting or a related discipline are essential.

Your ability to work successfully in a team environment, your self motivated and proactive approach and strong organisational and coordination skills enabling you to handle multiple tasks or assignments in a restricted time frame will be key.

Working with the Asset Development Projects (ADP) team will provide you with the rare opportunity to develop significant and high profile mining expansion project expertise.
