We are currently seeking to appoint a tealented Shift Operations Manager for our Melbourne Regional Distribution Centre (based in Broadmeadows) with the passion to support our commitment to developing a positive, high performance culture.
Reporting to the Distribution Centre (DC) Operations Manger, the role of the Shift Operations Manger is to oversee the effective management of the shift operation to meet production requirements and performance targets around cost, capability and safety whilst positively leading and developing the team. You will also contribute to the achievement of overall business performance for the DC.
Plan for and mange labour resources to meet workload forecasts and the DC budget
Build and promote a team environment focused on working collaboratively to achieve team and DC objectives
Lead, motivate and engage team members through the use of effective people management processes and practices, building their capability to achieve team and individual objectives
Ensure safe working practices are adhered to, promoting safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis
Use effective communication techniques which encourage open and honest communications and constant information flow
Implement continuous improvement of systems and processes
Understand and adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures and to promote same amongst teams
To be considered for this position, you will meet the following;
Ability to lead, coach and manage a team of people
Good planning and problem solving skills and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
3-5 years experience in Supply Chain Operations
Working knowledge of a broad range of distribution centre systems such as WMS, TMS
Experience with various computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Motivated, confident and enthusiastic
Demonstrates honesty and trust; keeps commitments
Treats people with respect and fairness
Is available to and approachable by team members, peers, manager and other stakeholders
Ensures team members receive timely and helpful assistance, guidance and feedback

Business/Management qualifications and/or; Significant on the job operations and people management experience
