With a reputation built on trust, reliability, and strong community relationships, the business is now seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive long-term success.

The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance and leadership of the business, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations across fertiliser handling, spreading, and transport services. You will work closely with the owners, lead a dedicated team, strengthen customer relationships, and continuously improve systems and operational capability.
Key focus areas include:

Work collaboratively with the owners to achieve business goals and strategy

Provide transparent reporting on operational and financial performance

Oversee procurement, blending, storage, and dispatch
-
Manage scheduling, plant/equipment utilisation, and seasonal workforce planning
-
Lead fleet utilisation, maintenance, and compliance
-
Coordinate supply, delivery, and spreading operations seamlessly
-
Maintain compliance with heavy vehicle, fatigue, and mass-management regulations
-
Ensure WHS, Dangerous Goods, environmental and biosecurity compliance
-
Manage risk and implement corrective actions when required
-
Oversee profitability, budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting

Manage costs, margins, pricing, and supplier/customer agreements
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers and agribusiness clients

Support seasonal sales planning and identify growth opportunities
-
Represent the business positively within the regional community

Lead, support, and develop staff in a fair and practical manner
-
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management
-
Build a stable and engaged workforce aligned with seasonal operational demands

Enhance systems, processes, and technology while respecting family-business practices

Drive ongoing improvements in safety, efficiency, service quality, and sustainability
About You
-
Senior operational or management experience in agribusiness, fertiliser, spreading, or transport.
-
Proven leadership capability and people-management skills.
-
Understanding of rural, seasonal, and regional operations.
-
Commercial and financial literacy.
-
High integrity, reliability, and a practical, hands-on approach.
