Are you an experienced, caring and dependable Support Worker looking for flexible opportunities where you can make a positive difference?

We are seeking SIL (Supported Independent Living) Support Workers across Australia to provide quality support to NDIS participants living in supported accommodation and shared living arrangements.

Working as an independent contractor gives you the flexibility to choose your availability and suitable shifts, while supporting participants to live safely, confidently and as independently as possible.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on the participant's individual needs and support plan, your role may include:

  • Providing respectful, person-centred support within SIL homes
  • Assisting with personal care, hygiene, showering, dressing and grooming
  • Supporting everyday living activities and household tasks
  • Assisting with meal preparation and cooking
  • Supporting medication routines in line with care plans and relevant requirements
  • Assisting with mobility, transfers and positioning where required
  • Supporting participants with appointments and community access
  • Encouraging independence, choice and control in everyday decisions
  • Supporting social, recreational and community participation
  • Following individual support plans, care plans and participant goals
  • Observing and reporting changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour
  • Completing progress notes and required documentation
  • Following positive behaviour strategies and behaviour support plans where applicable
  • Helping maintain a safe, clean and respectful home environment
  • Working collaboratively with families, support coordinators, nurses and other professionals
  • Providing sleepover, active night or overnight support where required

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or another relevant qualification (desirable)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Police Check completed within the last 3 years
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Infection Control Training
  • An ABN or willingness to obtain one
  • Current legal right to work in Australia
