Position: Finance Officer

Job Description

A Finance Officer at Navitas supports the organisation's day-to-day financial operations by processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and company policies. The role works closely with finance, payroll, procurement, and operational teams to support efficient financial management across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, and expense claims.
  • Maintain financial records, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
  • Assist with month-end reporting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Support payroll activities, audits, and compliance with Australian financial regulations.
  • Respond to finance enquiries and maintain accurate financial documentation.
  • Use accounting and ERP systems to process transactions and generate reports.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as TechnologyOne, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Knowledge of GST, BAS, and Australian financial compliance.
  • Progress toward or membership with CPA Australia or CA ANZ.
