About Hyatt Hotel Canberra - A Park Hyatt Hotel

Hyatt Hotel Canberra is Canberra's first hotel located in the heart of the capital. Our Heritage listed hotel interweaves the hidden mystique of the 1920s with modern Art Deco designs. With 252 rooms and suites, our hotel offers an escape within a heritage-inspired setting. The traditional furniture styles as well as garden and park views are all enhanced with sleek technology.

About the Role

Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all revenue streams within the hotel. This role involves auditing daily financial transactions, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and Hyatt policies.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Preparing and coordinating daily banking, ensuring deposits, and reflected in bank statement next day
• Issuing of petty cash and ensuring proper signature and supporting attached.
• Keep record of credit card transactions slips and reconcile all the daily credit car

• Assisting in credit card queries as directed by the Accountant/ Shared Service Company.

  
  
• Daily checking of charge-backs, investigate the reasons and resolve with Front Office and Payment Gateway Company.
• Reconciliation of Gift cards and keeping the track of utilization and balance.

What we are looking for:

• Qualification in Finance or Accounting highly regarded
• Work experience in a hotel or similar large organisation desirable
• Strong computer skills
