Headstart Acquired Brain Injury Services is a specialist service supporting the choices and independence of people with an acquired brain injury (ABI). We are dedicated to supporting individuals with an ABI in enhancing their life skills and community engagement. Our core purpose is to make a difference in the lives of people touched by brain injury by providing opportunities and inspiring hope.


Job Description

We're seeking applicants to join us in providing quality support, enabling people to live the life they choose.

As a Community Support Worker, you'll work with our consumers both in their homes and in the community, delivering flexible, individualised services such as in home support, life skills practice, personal care, incontinence care, meal support, mobility assistance, medication reminders and facilitating community involvement activities either one-on-one or within a small group setting. This may also include facilitating social, leisure and recreational connections.

We are looking for individuals with flexible availability to cover varying shifts from day to evening, sometimes overnight, Monday through Sunday.

  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Driver’s license and access to a reliable, well-presented vehicle with comprehensive insurance cover, and willingness to drive a service vehicle.
  • Personal mobile phone to be used to access organisation systems.
  • Cleared Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Provide First Aid certificate HLTAID011 (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proof of your Right to Work in Australia.
  • Completion certificate for the NDIS Worker Orientation Module. This course is available through the NDIS Commission Training Portal - https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/ Completion of a vocational qualification in disability, ageing or community services OR completion of the New Worker – NDIS Induction Module. This course is available through the NDIS Commission Training Portal - https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/
