Casual Studio Production Assistant

SS Studio Sydney | Westmead, Sydney

Are you passionate about filmmaking, music production, photography or digital content creation?

SS Studio Sydney is one of Western Sydney's leading audio and video production studios, specialising in music production, podcast production, commercial videography, photography, live sessions, cinematic productions and post-production.

About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated Casual Studio Production Assistant to join our team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes and wants hands-on experience across all aspects of audio and video production.

No two days are the same—you could be assisting with a podcast recording in the morning, setting up a commercial video shoot in the afternoon or editing content for delivery to clients.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our production team, you'll be involved in:

● Assisting with audio recording sessions

● Coordinating studio activities during productions

● Setting up cameras, lighting, microphones and production equipment

● Preparing studio spaces, backdrops and props

● Assisting during indoor and outdoor video productions

● Supporting podcast productions

● Managing media transfers and project organisation

● Assisting with video editing and post-production

● Preparing final files for client delivery

● Maintaining studio equipment and ensuring production spaces remain organised

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

● Has a genuine passion for filmmaking, photography, music production or digital media

● Is reliable, organised and eager to learn

● Can work independently as well as in a team

● Has good computer skills

● Pays attention to detail

● Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic

● Is available to work weekends when required

Desirable — Not Essential

● Experience with Logic Pro, Cubase, DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro

● Experience with cameras, lighting or audio equipment

● A current Australian Driver Licence and access to a vehicle for occasional location shoots

Travel expenses for approved outdoor shoots will be reimbursed.

Training & Development

We don't expect you to know everything from day one.

Successful applicants will receive practical, hands-on training in:

● Professional camera operation

● Studio lighting

● Audio recording

● Production workflows

● Video editing

● File management

● Client delivery processes

This role is well suited to university students, film/media graduates and individuals seeking flexible casual work in a creative production environment. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
