Coordinator, Communications and Engagement

The Role

We're looking for a proactive, self-starter with impeccable organisational and communications skills who is up for a fast-paced role supporting the smooth running of our Communications and Engagement Team. Help us deliver a busy pipeline of media opportunities and events, hone your writing skills with speeches, media releases and compelling content, and contribute to a range of communications, marketing and engagement initiatives, working with a range of stakeholders.

The Coordinator, Communications and Engagement role works across Creative Victoria's Communications and Engagement Unit to support the work of the team.

Main accountabilities:

  • Initiates improvements to procedures within the work area
  • Drafts public communication documents Communicates issues and advocates a preferred case or option to stakeholders
  • Conducts field or desk-top studies as part of a team
  • Conducts projects of defined scope under direction

The Team

The position of Coordinator, Communications and Engagement sits within the Office of the Chief Executive branch. The Office of the Chief Executive has 2 units, the First Peoples unit, and the Communications and Engagement unit, and one team, the Executive Office.

The branch supports the Chief Executive in leading the Creative Victoria group to efficiently and effectively deliver on the priorities of the Department, Minister and the Victorian Government, including under the Creative Victoria Act 2017. The branch leads on priorities to enhance self-determination and coordination of First Peoples policies and programs in the creative industries portfolio, and raises the profile of Victoria's creative industries, as well as Creative Victoria's role, key initiatives, investments, programs, and opportunities.
