Our Specialist Operations and Coordination (SOC) division provides direct specialist care, and clinical advice to the Victorian community and health services through retrieval, aeromedical and stroke specialist services. SOC facilitates patient access by coordinating ambulance resourcing and providing support to responders on day of operations through emergency and non-emergency ambulance response and access to alternate care pathways following secondary triage assessment.
We are seeking a suitably skilled and experienced Executive Advisor to provide high level executive and project support to the Executive Director and leadership team of our SOC division, including a range of complex and sensitive administrative work, expert advisory services, function governance and project direction to maximise the department's strategic, business and operational objectives.
This role is full time, ongoing. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Burwood in line with our hybrid working model (minimum three days per week).
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director Specialist Operations and Coordination, responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide strategic advice and governance support in actively managing critical activities, projects, and programs of work on behalf of the Executive Director, collating and evaluating relevant input from key stakeholders and providing timely professional and thorough briefings
- Manage escalated divisional enquiries and provide recommendations on emergent issues directly to the Executive Director and ensure that the interests of AV are appropriately addressed
- Prepare high level, professional briefing materials, reports, and audit and risk submissions, often of a complex or sensitive nature by applying critical analysis, evidence and recommendations that provide options for executive, senior management, or committee decision
- Build a broad and robust network and lasting partnerships with senior management, stakeholders, and colleagues across and external to AV whilst creating an environment in which the ED's office is approachable, professional, constructive, and highly effective
About you
Suited to a highly motivated and strategic individual with extensive experience as a trusted advisor, requirements include but not limited to:
- Completion of a post graduate degree with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and high-level relevant experience (preferably in health or business within the public/healthcare sector)
- Experience providing expert advice on complex issues across senior levels of a large and diverse organisation (healthcare or public service/sector highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience developing and sustaining strong, effective working relationships and networks with all stakeholders and relevant external organisations
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to enable the identification of issues and the judgement to determine appropriate courses of action
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and business writing skills with the ability to influence and brief high-level stakeholders in a var iety of forums
