Join a Team That Makes a Difference – After Hours Practitioner role
Are you ready to be part of a high-energy, purpose-driven team that supports vulnerable young people when they need it most?
We're looking for passionate and committed professionals to join the MacKillop National After-Hours Service, a vital, fast-paced service that operates after hours to support young people with high and complex needs. You'll play a key role in delivering responsive, therapeutic support across residential care, home-based care, lead tenant, and case management programs—all designed to create safer, more supportive environments for those in protective placements.
As part of the MacKillop National After-Hours Service, you'll be providing essential support across our MacKillop Family Services national network. This role is more than just support—it's about being the steady hand and calming voice when it matters most.

This is a Full-time opportunity based in Preston, VIC within our MacKillop National After-Hours Service Program. The position reports to the After-Hours Coordinator.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
- Experience in youth services or residential care.
- Ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Ability to implement behaviour management plans for young people with challenging behaviours.
- Tertiary qualifications in youth work or relevant field.

- Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
- Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
