Group and Team: Community Programs Group
Location: Youth Arts and Recreation Centre
Employment status: 0.22 FTE/Casual
Classification: Municipal Officer Level 1
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $39.22 to $45.00 per hour, inclusive of 20% casual loading + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role
This role contributes to the success of the City by supporting the Youth Programs Team to deliver a range of youth focused creative, recreational and wellbeing activities primarily at the Youth Arts and Recreation Centre and where required, externally in the community.
Role accountabilities include:

Support the delivery of a safe, welcoming and engaging Open Access Program at the Youth Arts and Recreation Centre, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and safety requirements.

Assist in the planning and delivery of creative, recreational and wellbeing-focused programs and activities that encourage young people to connect, participate and thrive.

Build positive relationships with young people, identify their interests and needs, and contribute to the development of responsive programs and activities.

Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily activity logs, statistical data, evaluations, financial information and other program documentation.

Promote City of Hobart Youth Programs, provide reception and customer service support, and assist with the delivery of community events and external youth activities.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a current Certificate level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience working with young people, a current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People and experience engaging and working directly with young people in a community, education, youth or recreational setting.
