About the role

The Oral Health Therapist - Senior provides high-level oral health clinical services within the School Dental Service, Metro North Oral Health Services. Working across a variety of community-based clinical settings, the role delivers evidence-based oral health care while supporting the provision of safe, effective and accessible dental services for eligible patients across Metro North.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, professional support and day-to-day supervision to less experienced oral health practitioners. The role also contributes to workforce development, service planning, research, quality improvement initiatives and the advancement of contemporary oral health practice across the School Dental Service.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

Deliver advanced oral health clinical services across a diverse caseload while applying evidence-based practice and sound professional judgement.
Provide high-level clinical advice and work collaboratively with patients, families, colleagues and stakeholders to support positive oral health outcomes.
Exercise independent decision-making and problem-solving skills when managing complex clinical situations and service delivery requirements.
Provide supervision, mentoring, education and support to oral health practitioners, students and support staff to strengthen workforce capability.
Lead and contribute to research, service improvement, workforce planning and quality improvement initiatives that enhance oral health service delivery.
