Schneider Electric is leading the digital transformation of energy management and automation. Our technologies enable the world to use energy in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner. We strive to promote a global economy that is both ecologically viable and highly productive.

The Opportunity:

Our SE Advisory division is a global leader in energy procurement, sustainability reporting, and energy efficiency, helping clients reduce their energy spend and achieve their business and sustainability goals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst – Energy Cost Analytics to join our team in Melbourne. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical capability and an interest in energy markets, data modelling, and cost optimisation.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will play a key role in analysing energy data, validating invoices, and supporting customers through accurate reporting and insights. You will work as part of a global team responsible for ensuring supplier compliance, managing energy contracts, and delivering high-quality analytical outcomes for our clients.

The day to day:

At Schneider Electric, no two days are the same. However, typical activities that the Data Analyst will carry out include:

  • Validating energy supplier invoices against contract terms and resolving discrepancies directly with suppliers
  • Analysing large volumes of data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client expectations
  • Building and maintaining Excel-based models and calculations for energy contracts and regulated rates
  • Developing insights into energy market dynamics to support cost forecasting and modelling
  • Supporting budget analysis through forecasting future energy costs based on historical consumption and market trends
  • Managing contract data, including accurate system entry and maintenance of records
  • Producing and delivering reports to clients within agreed timelines and quality standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders including suppliers, distributors, and clients
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and data management practices
About You

We don’t want to narrow the field; however, we believe the below will set you up for success:
  • Degree qualified in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related field
  • Experience working with large datasets and managing high-volume analytical tasks
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical capability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies and independently troubleshoot issues
  • Interest in energy markets or sustainability (highly regarded)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn in a global environment
Benefits of Working for Schneider Electric in this role:

  • Flexibility at work and global family leave
  • Share program with employee discounts and company contributions
  • Opportunity to purchase additional annual leave
  • Employee discounts (Clipsal, JB Hi-Fi, Hoyts and more)
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Global support network
  • Inclusive and collaborative team environment
If you are passionate about data, energy, and delivering meaningful insights that drive real business impact, we would love to hear from you!

All applicants must have working rights in Australia and will be required to provide evidence if selected for interview.
