Your Opportunity

This is a part-time opportunity based at Wills Café, Castle Hill, working Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00am to 3:00pm with a potential to go full time.

As a Kitchenhand, you will support the day-to-day operations of our food production facility by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and food safety standards. Working closely with Chefs, Cooks and the broader Catering team, you will help ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and safely.

With a strong focus on teamwork, safety and quality, you will:

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and food production areas

  • Follow HACCP, food safety and workplace health and safety procedures

  • Clean and sanitise equipment, utensils, floors and work surfaces

  • Assist with waste management and maintain clean waste disposal areas

  • Ensure chemicals and cleaning products are stored safely and correctly

Operational Support

  • Assist with food preparation activities as directed

  • Follow correct food handling and storage procedures

  • Support the team to maintain food quality and service standards

  • Complete tasks efficiently and accurately to meet production schedules

  • Participate in team rotation and provide support across different work areas when required

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

  • Work collaboratively with Kitchenhands, Cooks and Chefs

  • Assist with on-the-job training and support new team members

  • Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, cleanliness and food quality

  • Foster a positive and respectful team environment aligned with Anglicare's values

Safety & Workplace Culture

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace

  • Report hazards, incidents and risks in accordance with organisational procedures

  • Participate in workplace health and safety activities

  • Promote an inclusive and respectful environment for people of all backgrounds

What You Will Bring

You are reliable, hardworking and enjoy being part of a busy team environment. You take pride in maintaining high standards and understand the importance of food safety and hygiene.

You will also need:

  • Previous Kitchenhand, food production or hospitality experience (preferred)

  • Willingness to learn and be trained in food production processes

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred)

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • A positive attitude and strong team focus
