Are you about to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and ready to start your career in Animal Production?

About the role

AGnVET Graduate Animal Production will learn to provide advice on livestock to improve productivity, health, welfare and profitability in range of animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dairy and other livestock operations.

You will be supported by an experienced Animal Production Advisor and work closely with your designated branch to develop the skills to deliver tailored solutions for livestock farmers. leveraging the latest in agricultural technology including a diverse range of crop protection products, fertiliser and plant nutrition services. You will work closely with customers to provide advanced agronomic advice that supports sustainable production, crop quality and profitability.

Your key learning objectives will be to:

  • Develop the ability to provide advanced animal production advice and solutions to customers through hands-on experience.
  • Learn the art of providing input into animal production strategies and planning by assisting Branch Managers and Animal Production Advisors via diverse exposure to a range of projects, products and emerging trends.
  • Understand how to support key customer management by assisting in the development of business plans for new customers with support and mentorships from experienced Animal Production Advisors and Branch Managers.
  • Growing your communication skills through interactions with key suppliers and support demonstration sites with opportunities for networking and collaboration.

About you

You must be a recent graduate (in the last 12 months) or about to graduate with tertiary qualifications to be eligible for this position.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Keen interest in animal production.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to support connections between farmers, suppliers and the wider AGnVET team.
  • The ability to adapt to change to support continuous learnings in ever-evolving animal production practices.
  • Demonstrated participation and leadership through extra-curricular activities will also give you an advantage.
