Our Communities and Social Performance team is nationally renowned for expertise in designing and delivering social studies and consultation programs that support better decision making. We have a current need for a Social Performance Consultant to join our WA team as we continue to grow our project portfolio across mining, energy, transportation and infrastructure.
As a Social Performance Consultant you’ll:

Prepare literature (desktop) reviews on topics related to social impact
-
Design and undertake social research in support of social baseline studies, social impact assessments and related activities
-
Develop and deliver community and project stakeholder consultation and engagement activities, including workshops, focus groups, interviews (virtual and in-person) and surveys
-
Apply technological programs, applications and tools to collate and analyse quantitative and qualitative research data
-
Assist in preparing proposals of team capabilities and relevant project experience to WSP standards
-
Manage your own workflow and support senior team members to deliver medium to large-scale projects
-
Apply your skills and knowledge to meeting client requirements, working as part of a team to meet project scope, timeframe and budget using WSP systems
What you’ll bring:
- 2+ years of experience in social research or related fields with particular focus on Stakeholder Engagement & Consultation, Research, Data Collection & Analysis, Social Impact Assessment & Reporting, Stakeholder Planning Frameworks & Analysis, Social Performance & Governance, Technology & Innovation
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Humanities or a related discipline (e.g., sociology, anthropology, human geography, planning, development studies, sustainability, social policy, human rights, Indigenous studies).
- Adept at writing and producing reports that use plain language and graphics to communicate complex information succinctly
- The ability to understand and analyse a range of perspectives in a changing social and economic environment
- Able to effectively engage with broad communities, stakeholders and clients in the context of mining, energy, transport and infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with international, national and state-based requirements and leading practice for preparing social impact assessments would be highly regarded
- Ability to work as part of a national team across varied project portfolios and sectors
