About the Role

Create a long-term career in the mining sector through Macmahon’s apprenticeship program.

Our apprentices complete accredited training with high-quality registered training organisations and gain hands-on experience across various commodities, projects and equipment.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates from diverse backgrounds who are looking to add value and gain a trade qualification in one of the following areas:

• Automotive Electrician
• Boilermaker Welder (Heavy Fabrication)
• Mechanical Fitter (Component Specialist) – Perth-based only
• Mobile Plant Mechanic (HD Mechanic)
• Underground Electrician (Licenced) - Site-based only

Most roles will commence on a 5 days on / 2 days off roster in Perth before progressing to work across our Surface and Underground projects on various fly-in fly-out (FIFO) and drive-in drive-out (DIDO) rosters.

This year, Macmahon has created Perth-Based Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship positions. These roles will specialise in end-to-end component repairs ensuring a diverse range of mobile plant fleet continues to operate out in the field. Perfect for those who want the mobile mining fleet experience, without the FIFO.

The shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre, and the successful candidates will commence in January 2027.
