Full job description

Your Role

If you’re looking for new challenges and adventure outside the everyday, then the Army Reserve has an exciting opportunity for you.

In a part-time combat and security role, you’ll be in the thick of the action. You’ll get paid to train with advanced military equipment and weaponry and learn combat tactics while keeping fit and working as part of a close-knit team.

You could be driving formidable armoured and combat reconnaissance vehicles as an Armoured Vehicle Crew member or handling advanced weaponry and learning survival tactics as an Infantry Soldier. You could also work assisting in the construction of temporary roads, bypasses and fords as a Combat Engineer.

Why join the Army Reserve?

If you're looking for a new challenge, the Army Reserve could be for you. You'll enjoy the satisfaction of giving something back to Australia, while benefitting from:

  • Tax-free daily pay
  • Free healthcare and accommodation whilst on exercise or deployment
  • A flexible time commitment, serving anywhere from 20-100 days per year
  • Easy to fit into your lifestyle with the option to work close to home
  • Comprehensive training
  • Rewarding work that may be in complete contrast to your day job
  • A supportive team environment
  • May have the opportunity to deploy overseas (postings are voluntary)
  • Friendships that last a lifetime
  • No minimum period of service, allowing you to leave and come back to the Army Reserve whenever you like

Boost your Income

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax, and it increases as you gain seniority and experience.

On completion of your initial military and employment training, you could earn at least $216/day tax-free.

Additional amounts are paid for time spent on exercises and deployments.

Location

You will train for 3 weeks in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Following your training, you will be posted to an Army unit close to where you live.
