Full job description

We are Universal Music Australia (UMA), Part of The Universal Music Group. We are the world’s leading music company. In everything we do, we are committed to artistry, innovation and entrepreneurship. We own and operate a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audio-visual content in more than 60 countries.

Our International Marketing Department is looking for their next Manager, International Artists & Labels to join this high-performing and tight-knit team. Working across our incredible roster of international artists, you’ll be at the centre of bringing global priorities to life in Australia – developing locally relevant campaigns, growing audiences and finding creative ways to connect artists with fans.

If you’re passionate about music, tapped into culture and excited by the challenge of breaking international artists in Australia, this could be the role for you. You’ll need to know your artists, understand their fans, be across what’s happening in music, social and culture, and love turning great ideas into campaigns that cut through.

About the role:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies for international artists and releases, creating locally relevant campaigns that maximise opportunities in the Australian market
  • Be the custodian and key internal advocate for your artists, building strong relationships with international labels, artist management and teams across UMA
  • Drive audience growth and fan engagement across digital, social, CRM, content and direct-to-consumer channels
  • Identify and maximise streaming, partner, tastemaker and promotional opportunities for priority artists and releases
  • Create innovative marketing and content initiatives that build awareness, engagement and commercial outcomes
  • Use audience, consumption and campaign insights to understand fan behaviour, identify opportunities and optimise activity
  • Stay ahead of music, social and cultural trends, spotting opportunities to put our artists at the centre of the conversation
  • Work closely with teams across Marketing, Audience, Digital, eCommerce, Promotions and the broader business to bring artist campaigns to life

About you:

You live and breathe music and culture. You’re creative, commercially savvy and understand what makes audiences pay attention. You know how to take an international artist or global campaign and find the local insight, idea or opportunity that will make it resonate with Australian fans.

You’re also highly organised, collaborative and comfortable moving at pace. You can juggle multiple artists and releases, build great relationships and take ownership of projects from the initial idea through to execution.

You will bring:

  • Experience in music, entertainment, media or a related marketing environment, with a strong understanding of artist and release marketing
  • A deep knowledge of music, digital platforms, social media and the cultural trends shaping how fans discover and engage with artists
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, content and audience channels
  • An understanding of audience development, CRM and direct-to-consumer marketing
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to confidently manage multiple artists, campaigns and priorities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with artists, managers, international labels and internal teams
  • A creative and proactive mindset – you’re someone who spots opportunities, brings ideas to the table and makes things happen
  • Most importantly, a genuine passion for music and a desire to help international artists connect with and grow their audiences in Australia

About us:

  • Career opportunities – unique and rare opportunity to elevate your career in a supportive, motivated and ambitious team
  • The opportunity to join the WORLDS leading music company
  • All the perks of working within the music industry (did someone say live music?)
  • X 2 ‘U-Days’ per calendar year to spend however you like!
  • Strengths based learning and development opportunities
  • Much more….!

Our culture:

  • We’re an entrepreneurial, global organisation where authenticity, boldness, creativity, connection, drive, and insight aren’t just values; they’re how we work every day. Collaboration sits at our core, and we draw strength from diverse perspectives and meaningful relationships, knowing that what we achieve together is greater than what we can do alone.
  • We encourage everyone to show up as their true self, bringing something real to the work we do. We also approach every challenge with curiosity and imagination, always asking “what if?” and finding new, unexpected ways forward.
  • If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.
  • You can learn more about our values and what we stand for here.
