Storyboard Artist (2D Animated Series) | Hooligan Animation | Expression of Interest

Hooligan Animation is seeking expressions of interest from talented Storyboard Artists for the 2D animated series.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Create clear, engaging storyboards from scripts and creative direction
• Develop strong staging, composition, acting and camera language
• Interpret story beats and pacing for animated sequences
• Collaborate closely with directors and the wider production team
• Revise boards based on creative feedback
• Adhere to strict studio file naming conventions and production workflows
• Deliver work to production deadlines and quotas

Requirements

• Experience storyboarding for 2D animation productions
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling, cinematography and character acting
• Proficiency in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro is essential
• Strong draftsmanship and composition skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication and time management skills

Production Pipeline

• Work directly with directors to refine sequences and storytelling
• Maintain organised project files and version control throughout production
• Ensure boards are clear and production-ready for downstream departments

Location

This role is fully studio-based at our Brisbane studio.
