Full job description

We are hiring Game Masters for one of Sydney's largest Escape Room Companies!

What exactly is a Game Master?

The Game Master is responsible for ensuring an unforgettably fun and exciting experience for our customers.

As the Game Master you will have the following responsibilities:

- Being outgoing, courteous, and engaging with all of our participants.

- Setting up the Escape Room for each new game session and ensuring all props are in proper working order. This often has to be done in a very short time frame between game sessions.

- Greeting participants and speaking in front of groups, instructing them on the rules of the game as well as relaying the backstory.

- Being present during game play in a professional and unobtrusive manner while being available to answer questions and give direction where needed.

- Taking payments for bookings (must be confident handling money)

- Tidying and cleaning the Escape Room and all other general areas of the business.

- Keeping track of the inventory of props and ensuring all props in the game area are in working order.

- Keeping track of and organising all other business inventory- cleaning products, drinks, stationary etc.

- Being part of our social media videos and willing to film and give ideas.

- Taking incoming calls, answer questions and take online bookings.

- Keeping track of online bookings.

- Time management skills to ensure smooth running of multiple games, task completion and general cleaning duties.

Qualities:

- Charisma.

- An outgoing and sociable personality who can also fade into the background during game play.

- A flair for theatrics.

- An interest in puzzles and games, even if you aren’t good at them.

- Artistic/creative skills.

- Handy man/woman skills – problem solving.

- Good at working alone or in a team.

- Ability to take initiative.

- Attention to detail.

- Ability to stay calm and friendly whilst under pressure.

- Must be able to handle the unexpected as Escape Games are a live event.

Hours:

4-20 hours a week

Our business is mostly conducted on weeknights 5pm-9pm and weekends 9am-midnight.

Qualifications:

- First Aid

- CPR

- Working with Children's Check

Experience:

Do not need prior experience- just need to be comfortable with public speaking and quick to learn.

If you've played Escape Rooms before that is perfect!

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
