About the opportunity
As an alternative medical dispute resolution service under the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act and the Wrongs Act 1958, Medical Panels play an important role in the fair assessment of medical disputes, hearing around 4500 referrals each year and producing binding decisions that have a significant impact on injured workers and claimants. - Scheduling and booking of Medical Panel hearings (predominately psychiatric examinations) utilising videoconferencing technology (Zoom)
- Resolving technical issues in a calm and empathetic way with workers and claimants who may be anxious or distressed to ensure Medial Panel hearings can proceed as scheduled, ensuring the timely resolution of disputes
- This position may require occasional availability for after-hours and weekend work to support training sessions, meetings, events and other ad hoc operational needs
- Please note - this role will involve the review of medical and incident information
