Remuneration: $73,915.12 - $76,218.80 per annum, pro-rata (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)

About the Role
The Administration Officer provides administration and clerical support to the manager and team, within a range of settings as part of the administration team, to facilitate the smooth operation of the unit.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking motivated and customer-focused Administration Officers to join several teams at Griffith Base Hospital. All positions are covered by the same Position Description and will be recruited under this single requisition. Multiple permanent and temporary positions are currently available across different teams, as detailed below.
Positions Available:
Permanent
Emergency Department Clerk – 32 hours p/week
Renal Unit – 16 hours p/week
Temporary
Surgical Ward Clerk – 20 hours p/week (ending 4th April 2027 – potential to extend)
Relief Clerk – 22 hours p/week (ending 14th March 2027 - potential to extend)
Casual
Griffith Base Hospital has many Admin Officer 3 positions - apply through this recruitment to be appointed as a casual resource or to be eligibility listed for opportunities that arise over the upcoming 12 months.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide quality customer service, ensuring a respectful and helpful response is provided to all face-to-face and telephone enquiries, facilitating timely access to people and services of the health service.
- Complete a range of operational, clerical and administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the unit, including assistance with record management, booking services/appointments, record keeping, managing postal and other correspondence, general filing/typing/copying, deliveries and pickups from other areas, and purchasing/stores management.
- Provide assistance with more complex tasks or projects and provide relief for other staff as required, to support efficiency and quality within the service and team.
- Support the manager and team with quality activities to ensure ongoing improvement in local processes.
- Make decisions and take initiative in relation to day-to-day operational matters, performing according to established work practices and procedures, working under general instruction and broad supervision.

- National Police Check
- NSW WWCC
- Class C Drivers Licence
Selection Criteria
- Experience working in a similar support role in a complex organisation as an effective team member.
- Ability to make good decisions about work priorities and achieve key tasks effectively in a busy work area.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including attention to detail when writing and good listening skills when communicating with managers, colleagues and members of the public.
- Demonstrated high level computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and Windows based applications and email systems, and/or experience in other information and record keeping systems. Understanding of, and commitment to, providing excellent customer service and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Be motivated and able to demonstrate initiative in relation to known work procedures and work under broad supervision.
- Willingness to travel for work purposes.
