Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

Aurora University is searching for qualified instructors as part of its adjunct faculty pool to teach Psychology and related courses online. Courses include:

  • General Psychology
  • Brain and Behavior
  • Statistics in the Behavioral Sciences
  • Research Methods in Psychology
  • Contemporary Issues in Psychology
  • Cognitive Psychology
  • Social Psychology
  • Industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Issues in the Study of Gender and Sexuality

Teaching Responsibilities

AU Online faculty should be present and engaged in courses by doing the following:

  • Regular activity and presence in the classroom through the learning management system (at least four days a week, with one day on Saturday or Sunday) as an active and guiding participant, including discussion forums.
  • Host regular, scheduled weekly synchronous virtual office hours.
  • Meet weekly grading deadlines and maintain up-to-date grade books.
  • Be responsive to student email messages and requests for assistance.
  • Provide mentorship in the discipline and content expertise.
  • Respond to all university and departmental requests, emails, messages, and correspondence
  • This is an asynchronous online program. Faculty members are expected to be engaged in the online course no fewer than four days per week, one of those days on the weekend. A weekly one-hour synchronous office hour hosted in Zoom is also required

Minimum Qualifications

While a terminal degree is preferred, a master's degree in a related field is required.

Industry experience and college-level teaching experience are preferred.
