Full job description

We’re searching for a Freelance Production Assistant to support video and photo shoots across branded content and campaigns.

Drop Frame is a Melbourne creative studio producing photo and video content for brands across beauty, lifestyle, wellness, fashion, and more. We're looking for someone who is keen to get involved behind the scenes and be part of the creative process.

This role is ideal for someone who loves production, content and creative shoots, and wants hands-on experience across commercial photography, video production, and social content.

This role is also open to recent graduates or students currently studying Screen & Media, Film, Production, Photography, or related creative courses who are looking to gain industry experience.

You’ll work closely with the founder and become a key support person across pre-production and shoot days.

What you’ll be helping with

  • Assisting on shoot days
  • Lighting setup and pack down
  • Camera and gear assistance
  • Capturing BTS and social content on an iPhone or mirrorless camera
  • Helping manage talent, products, props, and run sheets
  • Pre-production support including sourcing, organisation, and shoot prep
  • General production support on set

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Are organised and proactive
  • Have experience in photography, videography, editing, or content creation
  • Have a strong eye for content and social media
  • Are comfortable around cameras, lighting, and production gear
  • Can take initiative and work efficiently
  • Are reliable, positive, and easy to work with
  • Have your licence and can travel to shoots

The role

  • Freelance / casual project-based work, $30–$40 per hour depending on experience
