Established in 2024, ACAMI is a collaborative research, clinical trials and workforce development centre operating at the intersection of AI and medical innovation. The Centre supports local medical research institutes and industry partners, delivering new and additional capabilities to ensure Victoria’s world-leading medical innovation and life sciences research ecosystem maintains pace with global standards and opportunities as AI capability develops.

- Contribute to establishing and growing new research programs, project teams or research clusters within ACAMI, including identifying complementary research capabilities, engaging collaborators, developing project plans and supporting sustainable research activities.
- Work with ACAMI’s Director & Chief Scientist, ACAMI’s Director, Development, and external partners to scope real-world medical, biomedical, biological, clinical and health challenges, co-design research approaches, and contribute to validated AI-enabled tools, software, models, workflows, prototypes or partner-facing solutions.

- Demonstrated ability to develop competitive research proposals and secure external research funding and partner investment, including through competitive grants, industry partnerships, government agencies, philanthropic organisations, or equivalent mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research outputs in leading AI-enabled medical/biomedical, bioinformatics, computational biology, or interdisciplinary venues, and to present research at national and international conferences.
