We are a community service organisation dedicated to supporting older people through meaningful community programs, social activities, and personalised support services. Our mission is to help seniors stay active, connected, and independent while promoting healthy ageing and community participation in a warm, welcoming, and culturally inclusive environment.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a caring, reliable, and motivated Community Support Worker / Volunteer to join our growing team.

This role involves supporting older people to participate in community activities, providing companionship and social support, and assisting with a variety of community programs and events. Depending on your skills and experience, you may also assist with basic administration, program coordination, and community engagement.

As many of our participants speak Mandarin and Cantonese and come from Asian cultural backgrounds , applicants with relevant language skills and cultural understanding will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support older people to participate in community activities and programs
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and social support
  • Assist with community events, outings, and wellbeing activities
  • Help coordinate activities and provide general administrative support when required
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality, person-centred community services

About You

  • Caring, friendly, patient, and reliable
  • Passionate about supporting older people and the local community
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Mandarin speaking is preferred
  • Cantonese speaking is highly desirable
  • Understanding of Chinese cultural backgrounds is highly regarded
  • Well organised with good communication skills

Requirements

  • Valid working rights in Australia
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Current Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle preferred
  • NDIS Worker Check, First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain) is an advantage
