With the right ingredients like a supportive and fun culture, opportunities to learn and grow, and valuable first-hand experiences and skills, set yourself up for an ongoing career.

About the Role

Are you a master of the dough, a connoisseur of crusts, and a wizard with yeast? If so, we want you to be a key ingredient in our bakery team! We’re searching for a Trade Qualified Baker with experience in fast-paced bakery environments. You’ll take pride in contributing to a bakery department which is exceptionally presented, welcoming and engaging.

About you and your skills

  • Trade Certification or Diploma:
A formal qualification in baking is required, showcasing your commitment to the trade.
  • Extensive baking experience: Particularly in a high-speed baking setting. This is the yeast that will help our team rise to the occasion.
  • Food safety and hygiene knowledge: We take safety and hygiene seriously. Your knowledge of these aspects is essential to uphold our high standards.
  • Customer obsessed: Our customers are at the heart of what we do. We’re looking for someone who can delight our customers with their love for baking.
  • Passion for quality and consistency: You take pride in every loaf that you deliver.
  • Mentorship and Team Support: We are looking for a team player who can coach and support other team members in honing their craft.

What’s in it for you?

  • Laundered uniform provided:
No need to worry about what to wear. We provide uniforms and take care of uniform cleaning, so you can focus on what you do best.
  • Airconditioned environment: Work comfortably in a climate-controlled space, ensuring you can focus on creating culinary wonders.
  • 5 days shoulder-to-shoulder training: We believe in continuous learning and will provide you comprehensive training to sharpen your skills further.
  • Shift variety: We offer a variety of start times to accommodate your schedule.
  • Be part of an award-winning bakery team: Join a network of baking champions who take pride in their craft and are committed to delivering excellence.
  • More cash staying in your pocket: Eligible team members receive 5% discount all year round on your Supermarket and Liquor online and in-store purchases. We also offer additional periods of double discount (10%) at various times throughout the year. As well as hotdeals exclusive to team members that translate into additional savings.
  • Reward through recognition: Give and receive recognition, linked to our Coles values, through our digital recognition platform ‘mythanks’. You can accumulate points to redeem in the online shop for exciting gifts and electronic gift cards from an extensive range of retailers.
  • Paid parental leave: We understand how important your life outside work is and offer permanent team members paid parental leave to support you in balancing work and family.

About the recruitment process

We’re continuing to build a gender equitable team, and a culture that is just as diverse, inclusive and welcoming as the communities we serve. We are committed to creating a workplace that is safe and respectful for our team. We encourage applications from people of all ages, cultures (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples), abilities, sexual orientation and gender identities.
