  • Acting as a trusted adviser to business stakeholders on compliance obligations, regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
  • Identifying, assessing and advising on emerging regulatory developments and compliance risks impacting lending products and customer propositions.
  • Delivering risk insights through thematic reviews, deep dives and targeted assessments to support effective risk management outcomes.
  • Supporting governance forums through the preparation of high-quality risk reporting, committee papers and management insights.
  • Partnering with business leaders and risk colleagues to strengthen the control environment and embed effective compliance risk management practices.
  • Supporting regulatory engagement activities and contributing to responses, reviews and regulatory requests where required.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on compliance management frameworks, policies and regulatory obligations relevant to the Business & Private Banking division.
  • Promoting a strong risk culture through constructive challenge, coaching and effective stakeholder engagement.

What will you bring?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience (10-15+ years’) in Compliance, Non-Financial Risk, audit, legal or regulatory roles in a financial services environment
  • Strong knowledge of lending products, banking operations and the regulatory environment impacting Business & Private Banking.
  • Demonstrated experience providing independent challenge and risk-based advice within a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Strong understanding of non-financial risk frameworks, governance practices and compliance methodologies.
  • Proven ability to identify emerging risks, analyse complex issues and communicate practical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-quality papers and deliver clear risk insights.
