About Modus
Modus is an independent, award-winning craft brewery that started on Sydney's Northern Beaches and now calls Newcastle home. Our Merewether venue sits alongside a working brewery, a few minutes from the beach. It holds up to 300 guests and pours from 36 taps, including our core range, the non-alcoholic NORT range and limited local-only releases, along with cocktails, wine and spirits.
The Role
Summer is our busiest and best time of year, with long afternoons, full weekends, live music and a steady stream of people coming up from the beach. We're adding casual bar staff to the team for the season and beyond. You'll serve beer, cocktails and wine, help guests find something they'll enjoy, and work alongside a crew that takes service seriously without taking itself too seriously.
What You'll Do
- Pour beer, make cocktails and serve drinks in a busy, high-volume bar.
- Talk guests through the tap list and recommend beers to suit their taste.
- Keep the bar clean, stocked and organised throughout service.
- Help out at functions, events, live music sessions and beer releases.
- Work well with the bar, floor and kitchen teams to keep service running smoothly.
What You'll Bring
- A current NSW RSA competency card (essential).
- Bar or hospitality experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person.
- A friendly, easygoing manner with guests and the ability to stay calm when it's busy.
- An interest in craft beer, or a willingness to learn.
- Availability over summer, particularly weekends, evenings and public holidays (including the Christmas and New Years period)
