Full job description

Melbourne Sports Institute is currently recruiting enthusiastic basketball referees to join our team for Inter School Sport Competitions in 2026.

We are currently recruiting basketball referees to work with our client schools located in the following and surrounding suburbs: Attwood, Broadmeadows, Roxburgh Park, Somerton, Craigieburn, Greenvale, Glenroy and Mickleham.

We offer competitive rates starting from $40 per match with an opportunity for back-to-back games!

The 2026 Term 3 and 4 seasons runs from mid-July until early December.

Fixtures are played every day throughout the week (Monday-Friday) and primarily on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday afternoons between 12:30pm – 3:30pm.

There are also opportunities for full day tournaments in these areas from Monday - Friday.

Staff are paid fortnightly and have the potential to take on further refereeing opportunities throughout the year.

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check
  • Have a sound understanding of basketball rules
  • Possess experience in playing, coaching or refereeing the sport
