Full job description

We are a growing, quality-focused pet salon dedicated to providing standard-setting care and comfort for every furry client. We are currently looking for a reliable, hardworking, and gentle Pet Bather / Grooming Assistant to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bathing & Drying: Wash, condition, and thoroughly dry dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments safely and efficiently.
  • Prep & Basic Maintenance: Perform prep work including brush-outs, mat removal, nail trimming/grinding, ear cleaning, and gland expression.
  • Animal Handling: Safely handle, restrain, and comfort pets during the bathing process to minimize stress for the animals.
  • Salon Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe workspace (cleaning tubs, sweeping hair, sanitizing equipment, laundering towels).
  • Team Collaboration: Assist senior groomers with pets as needed and maintain clear communication regarding any health or behavioral concerns observed on pets.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: Prior pet bathing, kennel, or vet assistant experience preferred (but we are willing to train the right passionate candidate!).
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and lift animals weighing up to 25kg unassisted.
  • Patience & Comfort with Animals: Ability to remain calm and gentle when handling anxious, energetic, or difficult pets.
  • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and a positive team player.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and busy holiday periods.
