We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Core or Provisionally Registered Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team and help participants maximize their potential and enjoy a full, meaningful life.

The Role

In this pivotal role, you will work within the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission framework to provide high-quality positive behaviour support. You will be supported to develop your skills in clinical assessment, intervention, and the reduction of restrictive practices. You will be provided with clinical supervision and opportunities to level up in your career with Hippo Support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee evidence-based behaviour support plans that emphasize the least restrictive options.
  • Provide clinical and functional behaviour assessments for children and adults with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement trauma-informed practices.
  • Mentor and support care staff to embed positive behaviour support principles in everyday practice.
  • Ensure all practices align with NDIS Commission Behaviour Support Rules and relevant legislation.

About You

You are a committed professional with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for improving the quality of life for people with disabilities. You are willing and able to work under the mentorship of our clinical lead, and partake in team training of your allied health assistants, participants, and their supports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Tertiary qualification (or currently studying) in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or a Diploma in Community Services.
  • Knowledge: A foundational understanding of the NDIS operating framework and best practices in positive behaviour support.
  • Registration: Willingness to register as a recognized Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively in high-demand environments.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.
