The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Byron Bay leadership team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on the floor, loves leading people, and understands that great hospitality comes from creating a strong team culture behind the scenes.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, kitchen, and bar teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service, developing our front-of-house team, and ensuring every guest experiences the warmth and quality that Three Blue Ducks is known for.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the Venue Manager with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant

• Leading service from the floor and setting the standard for guest experience

• Supporting, mentoring, and developing the front-of-house team

• Creating a positive and engaging team culture

• Assisting with rostering, reservations, breaks, and service flow

• Ensuring venue presentation and service standards are consistently maintained

• Handling guest feedback with confidence, care, and professionalism

• Working closely with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver seamless service

• Supporting training, onboarding, and ongoing team development

• Assisting with events, group bookings, and special service requirements

• Supporting stock control, cost management, and operational targets

About you:

• Proven experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or similar leadership role

• Strong experience in a busy, high-volume restaurant environment

• A hands-on leader who enjoys being present on the floor

• Confident running service and making decisions under pressure

• Passionate about creating genuine guest experiences

• Strong food and beverage knowledge (wine and cocktail knowledge highly regarded)

• A natural mentor who enjoys developing and supporting others

• Organised, proactive, and comfortable working with systems and processes

• A team player who genuinely lives and breathes hospitality
