Full job description

We are currently hiring for a Biostatistician to join the Australian Shoulder Research Institute team in Brisbane.
This full-time role will contribute to a growing research programme focused on orthopaedic clinical research, patient outcomes, scientific publications and statistical analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, Biostatistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • A PhD or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is highly desirable.
  • At least 1 year of relevant research, statistical analysis or data science experience.
  • Experience with coding and programming languages such as R, Python, MATLAB or Stata is highly desirable.

Position details:

  • Full-time position
  • Use statistics and numerical methods to develop algorithms and perform computations.
  • Communicate with management and academic collaborators to design project and research studies.
  • Develop methods and collect patient data through surveys to generate analysis to be used for scientific publication
  • Analyse, identify trends and interpret statistical results to report on surgery outcome, patient outcome, and help with data-driven decision making
  • Use your coding expertise to integrate and analyse large scale biomedical data
