This is an exciting time to join MyerGroup. The Copywriter is a newly created opportunity, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, brand-right copy across campaigns, content and digital platforms for Myer. Reporting to the Art Director, this role sits at the intersection of creative strategy and brand expression translating the visual direction and commercial intent of each campaign into words that resonate with the right audience, in the right tone, on the right channel.

The Copywriter is a genuine creative partner to the design team, contributing to concept development and messaging from the earliest stages of a brief, and maintaining a consistent, distinctive tone of voice across every touchpoint; from campaign headlines and social captions to EDM subject lines, web copy and paid media.

About the role:

• Concept and write copy for brand campaigns across Myer Brands, developing compelling headlines, taglines, body copy and calls to action that bring the creative strategy to life.

• Translate campaign briefs and creative direction from the Art Director into copy that is on-brand, on-strategy and tailored to the intended channel and audience.
• Write platform-native copy for social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Facebook
• Produce EDM copy including subject lines, preview text, headers and body content that drives engagement and click-through across MEBS and MDL customer communications.
• Write web and app copy including product descriptions, category landing pages, banners and navigational copy that supports a seamless and on-brand customer experience.
• Collaborate with designers on the integration of copy and layout, ensuring typographic hierarchy, copy length and messaging work in harmony with each visual format.
• Maintain and champion a consistent, distinctive tone of voice for Myer brands across all written outputs, ensuring each brand's personality is clearly expressed and differentiated.
• Stay close to each brand's customer — understanding how they speak, what they respond to and how language needs to evolve across seasons and campaigns.
• Adapt campaign messaging and copy across multiple channels and formats, ensuring each version feels native to its platform while remaining true to the overarching brand message.
• Tailor copy to specific audience segments as required — including customer lifecycle stage, demographic targeting and campaign objective — without losing the brand's creative voice.

About you:

• 3–5 years' copywriting experience within fashion, retail, lifestyle or a related creative environment agency or in-house.
• A strong, diverse portfolio demonstrating copy across brand campaigns, social media, EDM, digital and content formats.
• Proven ability to write in multiple brand voices and adapt tone with precision across different audiences, platforms and channels.
• Deep understanding of social-first copywriting and how language performs differently across Instagram, TikTok, EDM and paid media.
• Experience working in close partnership with art directors, designers and creative directors in an integrated creative process.
• Strong conceptual thinking — able to contribute to campaign ideation and develop copy-led creative directions, not just execute briefs.
• Excellent attention to detail across grammar, spelling, punctuation and brand language standards.
• Ability to manage multiple briefs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, delivering quality copy to tight deadlines.
• Experience developing or contributing to tone of voice frameworks and brand messaging guidelines is highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for fashion, retail and culture — with an understanding of the Australian market
