As an Investigator, you'll lead complex investigations, assess referrals from a range of sources, to support enforcement and help uphold standards across the industry.

About the Role:
Working within the Investigations Unit, the Investigator assesses and investigates referrals from internal and external sources, identifying breaches of legislation, regulations, and professional standards. The role involves conducting interviews, preparing reports and briefs of evidence, and participating in court and disciplinary hearings to support compliance with relevant laws, codes, and Australian Standards.
The BPC's Investigations Unit is a collaborative and supportive team committed to achieving positive outcomes for consumers and the industry.
What we are looking for:
- Lead complex investigations into alleged breaches of relevant legislation, analysing evidence, conducting interviews, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports, briefs of evidence, and regulatory correspondence.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, legal counsel, and industry representatives to gather information, provide advice, support hearings, and contribute to regulatory outcomes.
- Apply sound judgement and adaptability in a fast-paced environment by assessing risks, responding to changing circumstances, solving complex problems, and making evidence-based decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and regulatory excellence by maintaining technical and legislative knowledge, supporting data analysis and reporting, sharing expertise, and participating in organisational initiatives and cross-functional investigations.
