Full job description

PinPoint Building & Pest Inspections is a Perth company doing pre-purchase building and timber pest inspections, plus pest control, across the Perth metro area. We are a small, busy team and we need another experienced building inspector.

You will carry out pre-purchase building inspections to the Australian Standard (AS 4349.1), and write clear, accurate reports that buyers and agents can rely on. The role will mostly cover the northern suburbs, so living north of the river suits it best.

What we offer

  • $110,000 to $120,000 a year plus super, depending on experience
  • 3-month probation and training period at $85,000, moving to the full rate sooner if you get up to speed quicker
  • Company car supplied, including private use
  • Work phone, laptop and inspection gear supplied
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Write your reports from home, no office to drive to
  • 3 to 4 inspections a day
  • Bookings, admin and client calls handled by our office team

The role

  • Pre-purchase building inspections on houses, units and new builds
  • Writing accurate inspection reports, finished within our 24 to 48 hour turnaround
  • Talking clients and agents through what you found
  • Roof cavity and subfloor access, including tight spaces and climbing onto roofs
  • Following our inspection method on every job so the reports stay consistent

You will need

  • Registered Builder (WA)
  • Solid knowledge of residential construction and common defects
  • Good written English and computer skills for report writing
  • Clear, friendly communication with clients and agents
  • Physically fit for roof and subfloor work
  • Current police clearance, white card and driver's licence

Bonus if you are open to it

  • Quoting repair work and supervising the occasional structural repair job, with extra pay by arrangement
