DESCRIPTION
AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every customer to grow by providing tailored service, unmatched technology, and unwavering support. We dive deep to understand each customer's unique challenges, then craft innovative solutions that accelerate their success. This customer-first approach is how we built the world's most adopted cloud. Join us and help us grow.
The ANZ Public Sector Industry Business Development team brings deep sector expertise and credibility to government transformation. Our industry leaders aren't just technology experts—they're former practitioners who've walked in our customers' shoes, whether as education leaders, healthcare executives, judicial officials, researchers, or regulators. This firsthand experience lets them engage authentically with Ministers, Secretaries, and agency executives about mission outcomes, not just IT solutions. As single-threaded leaders for their industries, the team orchestrates complex go-to-market strategies across sales, partners, and marketing—balancing long-term industry transformation with immediate customer needs. They operate through three core pillars: inspiring customers by showcasing what's possible with contemporary cloud technologies, translating complex industry imperatives into partner-led solutions and repeatable strategies, and enabling both internal teams and the broader ecosystem with sector-specific empathy and awareness. It's about building the bridges between vision and execution that help government agencies better serve their citizens.
AWS is seeking an experienced Industry Leader to inspire, drive innovation, and spearhead the transformation of Justice & Public Safety (JPS) and Federal Government customers across Australia and New Zealand. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership, relationship building, and technical expertise to expand AWS's footprint across federal agencies and the JPS sector—encompassing policing, courts, corrections, emergency services, national security, and border protection.

- Translate: Convert complex customer challenges into repeatable, scalable go-to-market (GTM) strategies and technology solutions delivered through AWS services and partner ecosystem
- Enable: Infuse industry expertise across the AWS Partner Network and internal teams through value maps, joint GTM plans, and enablement programs
Key job responsibilities
- Thought Leadership: Serve as a super-influencer and evangelist for AWS within Federal and JPS sectors through keynote speeches, panel discussions, publications, and industry events
- GTM Strategy Ownership: Lead creation, inspection, and evolution of industry GTM strategy across ANZ with customer-obsessed continuous improvement
- Executive Engagement: Own C-level relationships with federal agencies and JPS authorities to establish new business and enable long-term opportunities
- Force Multiplier: Provide differentiated support to account and partner teams through executive briefings, presentations, account planning, and proposal preparation. Lead the development of a robust community of partners that can support federal government and JPS customers
- Customer Advocacy: Act as feedback conduit between customers and AWS product/service teams to shape future strategies
- Market Development: Drive cloud adoption in a sector with 90% on-premises IT estate and only 40% open to cloud adoption, addressing shared challenges including legacy DC exit, mainframe risks, fragmented data silos, and inefficient business processes
- Team Development: Hire and develop top talent while building culturally aligned partner relationships
