We are seeking an experienced and motivated Café Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy café. The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, committed to delivering exceptional customer service, and capable of leading a team in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who enjoys creating memorable customer experiences while driving business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the café to ensure efficient and smooth service.
  • Lead, supervise, train, and motivate café staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Prepare staff rosters and oversee daily staffing requirements.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and professionally resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Prepare consistently high-quality espresso-based coffees and beverages, while supporting the team during busy service periods.
  • Operate efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume café environment, maintaining speed, quality, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and maintain effective inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor sales performance, control operational costs, and contribute to achieving business targets.
  • Handle cash management, daily reconciliations, and point-of-sale (POS) operations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and equipment maintenance throughout the café.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely purchasing and delivery of food, beverages, and café supplies.
  • Assist in planning and implementing promotional activities to increase customer satisfaction and sales.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality management role.
  • Demonstrated experience as a barista with the ability to produce consistently high-quality coffee.
  • Proven ability to prepare espresso-based coffee efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume café environment.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee extraction, milk texturing, latte art, and coffee machine operation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and lead by example during peak trading periods.
  • Experience using POS systems and basic computer applications.
