Role Overview

As a Waiter / Waitress at Ozi Cafe & Grill, you are the face of our cafe. You will be responsible for creating memorable dining experiences by taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages efficiently, and maintaining a clean, vibrant dining environment.

Key Responsibilities

* **Customer Service:** Greet guests warmly upon arrival, seat customers, provide menus, and answer questions regarding menu items, daily specials, and dietary options.

* **Order Taking & POS:** Take customer food and beverage orders accurately using our POS system, handle cash and EFTPOS transactions, and manage takeaway orders.

* **Food & Beverage Delivery:** Serve prepared food and coffees promptly to tables; run food from the kitchen and beverages from the coffee bar while maintaining high presentation standards.

* **Table Maintenance:** Clear and sanitize tables quickly after guest departure, restock cutlery and napkin stations, and ensure the dining room remains spotlessly clean and tidy.

* **Communication:** Work closely with baristas, kitchen team, and management to ensure smooth service and timely food delivery.

* **Problem Solving:** Handle customer enquiries or minor service issues politely and professionally, escalating to the supervisor when necessary.

* **Food Safety & Hygiene:** Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety (WHS) standards, food hygiene protocols, and safe manual handling practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

* **Experience:** Previous experience as a cafe server, floor staff, or in a fast-paced hospitality role preferred (training provided for the right candidate).

* **Communication:** Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive attitude.

* **Multitasking:** Ability to work efficiently, stay calm under pressure, and manage multiple tasks during peak breakfast and lunch rushes.

* **Team Player:** Strong collaborative spirit and willingness to help colleagues across floor, kitchen, and counter duties.

* **Availability:** Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays. (No Evenings)

* **Physical Fitness:** Ability to stand, walk, carry trays, and move around comfortably for the duration of a shift.

Desirable Skills (Bonus)

* Basic barista skills or experience operating a commercial espresso machine.

* Knowledge of POS software (e.g., Square, Lightspeed, OrderMate). not essential but advantage.
