Join Our Team – Experienced Sandwich Maker Wanted!

Are you an experienced Sandwich Maker or Café All Rounder who enjoys preparing fresh food and delivering great customer service? Looking for a Monday-to-Friday role that offers a better work-life balance?

The Metropolitan Hospitality Group is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Sandwich Maker to join our friendly team at Forrestdale.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced café environment, take pride in preparing quality food and love being part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

You’ll play an important role in the daily operation of our café, preparing fresh sandwiches, wraps and salads while supporting front-of-house service. Barista skills are an advantage, but we’re happy to consider someone who is keen to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh sandwiches, wraps, rolls and salads.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
  • Assist with front-of-house duties and provide friendly, efficient customer service.
  • Prepare barista-made coffee, or develop your coffee-making skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and service area.
  • Follow food safety procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.

About You

You’re a hands-on team player who takes pride in your work, has a positive attitude and can confidently manage your responsibilities in a busy café environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar sandwich-making, café or food preparation role.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner.
  • Good organisation, time management and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work efficiently, independently and as part of a team.
  • Barista experience, or a genuine willingness to learn.
  • A Food Handling Certificate and current National Police Clearance, or a willingness to obtain them.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 12:30 pm.
