Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and cocktail bar located in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD. We offer a stylish and welcoming atmosphere for dine-in and takeaway, with seating for up to 90 customers. offering dine in and takeaway food and drink options. We serve certified organic coffee from Quest Coffee Roasters, available both for purchase and in our delicious coffee creations.

We are looking for a Barista / All Rounder to join our team!

Position: Barista / All Rounder
Hours: 30-34 hours per week inc Fri and Sat up to 5pm
Schedule: Between 5am and 3pm exc Fri and Sat
Rate: $35.00 to $36.50 / hr Base Rate + penalties & super
Location: Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promotes coffee and food consumption by educating customers.
• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee and food interests and needs.
• Running Food: Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and prompt service.
• Clearing and Cleaning Tables: Keeping the dining area tidy and presentable, clearing tables after customers leave, and promptly resetting them for the next guests.
• General Cleaning: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe, including regular cleaning of surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Dishwashing: Ensuring timely and efficient cleaning of dishes, glassware, and utensils to maintain a smooth workflow and support kitchen operations.
• Customer Service at Till: Assisting customers at the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and providing friendly and attentive service.
• Handling and Serving Food: Preparing and serving food items, such as pastries, sandwiches, and snacks, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Assisting with Opening and Closing: Supporting the team in preparing the cafe for opening and ensuring all tasks are completed at the end of the day for a smooth closing process.
• Assisting with preparing coffee drinks and other beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques such as, espresso, latte, cold brew, milkshake, and smoothie.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and Food Health & Safety regulations

ABOUT YOU

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• 3 or more years of recent experience in customer service at a cafe or restaurant.
• 1 or more years of recent experience as a professional barista, with the ability to pour latte art.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
• Familiarity with Food Health & Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• RSA (or able to attain within 30 days of employment)

NICE TO HAVE

• Certification in Hospitality or related industry.
• Experienced in a fast paced cafe.
• Experience as a Cafe Manager, and or Opening / Closing Cafe.
• Food handling experience.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate long term visa to work in Australia
• Availability to work at least 1 weekend day every week
• Availability to work shifts from 5am to 4pm for between 4 and 9 hrs.
• Loves coffee and tea
• Reliable transport to and from work
