Monday - Friday | approx 8am - 4pm | 38 hrs per week

About the role
We’re on the lookout for a friendly and capable Café Assistant/Barista to join the team at RAA 1903 Café in the heart of Adelaide city. This is a 2-year full-time role where you’ll be front and centre - crafting great coffee, serving up tasty food, and helping create a welcoming experience for RAA members and staff every day.
Reporting to the Café Operations Manager, you’ll be a key part of the daily rhythm - delivering warm, consistent service while keeping food safety, hygiene, and presentation standards high.

What you'll do
- Make consistently great coffee and hot drinks to order
- Provide warm, attentive service to RAA members, staff, and visitors
- Prepare and present food accurately and to high presentation standards
- Support the setup and delivery of internal catering requirements
- Complete daily tasks in accordance with job cards to keep café operations running smoothly
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with RAA’s Food Safety Program
- Keep the café clean, tidy, and welcoming throughout the day
- Work cooperatively with the kitchen and broader café team
- Demonstrate initiative by identifying and completing outstanding tasks without direction
Essential:
- Solid barista experience and confident, consistent coffee-making skills
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Demonstrated experience in a café, hospitality, or customer service environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- A genuine, customer-first mindset and warm, welcoming manner
- Strong communication skills and a real team-first approach
- The ability to stay calm, organised, and focused during busy service periods
- Flexible availability including early morning starts
- Basic food preparation experience
- Knowledge of allergen management and catering for diverse dietary needs
- First Aid Certificate
