About the role

Provide friendly customer service in a busy hospital café, preparing food and beverages, making barista coffee, processing sales, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. Staff may be rostered over a 7-day roster on an on-call casual basis.

Key duties of the role

Food and beverage preparation and serving, stock management and customer service in the Gilbert and Nic Nath Café's.
Barista coffee making including operating the espresso coffee machine to prepare coffee and other hot drinks to the required standards.
Prepare food and beverages according to standard operating procedures, recipes, and quality standards and serve customers promptly.
Operating POS and EFTPOS systems in an accurate and timely manner according to standard procedures and customer service principles
Completion of cleaning duties to required standards whilst maintaining a clean and hygienic environment

Skills and Experience

Experience in a Café or Hospitality environment.
Extensive experience in Barista coffee making to be able to consistently produce a high-quality product.
Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively as part of an effective team.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers at all levels, cultures, and backgrounds.
